Too Phat is a local rap and hip hop group consists of two members, Malique and Joe Flizzow. They emerged into the scene back in 98 when both of them met online and battle it out with rhymes. The love for the music brought them together and bridged the gap. With 3 successful albums and two platinum releases by Too Phat themselves, they made a big impact on the music industry in Malaysia and especially abroad. And now, their masterpiece was given birth. The latest album Rebirth into Reality which is a compilation album consists of double cds, ‘Rebirth’ and ‘Reality’ with 29 songs. Come on. How many local musician can actually release double cds at one time?! I think it is really impressive to release double cds where at the same time all the songs are great!

I personally like the song which they duet with Siti Nurhaliza. It has two versions which in English called ‘Million Miles’ while in Malay version is called ‘Dua Dunia’. I have to admit Siti’s sweet voice imposes a sense of gentleness and moderates the song which creates a totally different element. Another song, Engine No.9 which they duet with Machi, a rap and hip hop group from Taiwan is very good too. This song is a blend of English and Chinese rap. It doesn’t sound weird, instead it is really cool!

Overall, I highly recommend this album for those who are interested in rap and hip-hop musics. They are so musically gifted and we should really feel proud with such talents in the local music industry whom also have made their way abroad as well.
