I really really didn’t want to watch this at the first place. Because I simply think it will be a boring 3 hours. I mean what’s interesting about a giant gorilla ruining the city which we all watched before more than 10 years ago? I usually don’t fancy movies which are remade.
But after I watched it, I must say this is great one for a remade movie. Although the plot took one hour to get to the Skull Island, but I have to admit the movie was full of actions! I was actually anticipating on what’s happening next. I can’t really remember the original plot but this was great.
Jack Black really did a great job as the rebellious director Carl Denham. I mean I really hated him in the movie! He delivered the character’s seriousness and overly ambitious attitude perfectly. But he is seriously fat. And he really has the selfish-bastard look.
Naomi Watts as Ann Darrow has a really flexible body. She presented her emotional connection with King Kong perfectly. Like what Carl Denham said in the movie, everyone will just cry because she just looked so sad. Kong is pretty lovable when he is not ripping apart dinosaurs.
And how could I forget Adrien Brody, who plays a great Jack Driscoll as well. He is just perfect. And a true hero, of course. I love his voice. It is deep and sexy. I was totally fond of the way he proposed his feelings to Ann. He was like so shy. Nothing more to say. He is just perfect! (Hmm, did I mention that before?)
I really like the way the movie was delivered. Clear and exciting albeit it was a 3 hours show. It was quite touching to see Kong ice-skating with Ann and when they were sharing the scenary of the sunrise while he pats his chest saying ‘beautiful’ to Ann. He is just so adorable when he was sitting there. I just found it cute.
Oh yeah, the bugs and weird creatures are so freaky and scary. Yuck Yuck Yuck!!
So, it’s really nice!
