So my fren picked me up and we tooked LRT, KTM and cab to KLPAC for The Homecoming. We were very excited as this was our first time outing together and watching a play in KLPAC. We reached there just in time. Went in after redeemed our tickets.

And guess who I saw were there too?

Suanie (didn’t see Eric thou, lol!),
Fireangel (seriously she is pretty!),
Cheneille (cuter compare to pictures!),
Kimberlycun (nice long wavy hair!),
Shaolintiger (huge body!),
Smashpop and
Ms Mary George (my criminal law lecturer).

Overall, the play was good. I have to say that it was rather dark and wicked. Thor Kar Hoong (Max) is definately good. He totally presented his character perfectly. Especially the conversation with Patrick Teoh (Uncle Sam) when Uncle Sam was saying he is the best chauffeur in the firm. Patrick Teoh’s (Uncle Sam) expressions were funny. U-En-Ng (Lenny) has this accent which is quite different, I think. And I found his character a rather disturbing and neurotic one. But, he is smart from the way he started a conversation and responded almost immediately to the opponent. And it was very obvious that he has temper control problem while Ruth was continuously provoking him and went against him. So, his character appealed to me as someone who is very intelligent yet a little bit crazy and obsessive in a way. Ian Cheong as Joey didn’t speak much thou. But he brought forward a rather impulsive character. Just like the typical young men nowadays. By saying that he doesn’t want to share Ruth with other guys, shows a possessive young man who demands total attention from an attractive and irresistable woman, Ruth. His army boxer is all I can remember after the play. Why is he the only one with the malaysian accent anyway? Ben Tan’s character, Teddy was rather mixed up, I think. I thought he would have object with the suggestion of making Ruth a prostitute but apparently he didn’t and just left. I thought he was a good guy. I mean the character, of course. Somehow, it appears to me that all of them are sick.

Now, Jia Wei’s character, Ruth, is rather ill as Teddy mentioned. As this is her first appearance in a play, I would say she did quite well except that she can put more expressions or maybe her role is supposed to be like that, I don’t know. But she looked really seducive in that nightdress. I heard someone whistled when she came out in that dress. It seems that she is definately not well as she agreed to the father-in-law and brothers’ suggestion of turning her a into prostitute in order to keep her by their side at the same time. Or rather she enjoys the attention and demand from the men. Therefore, she agreed to stay. But from the beginning of the play when she reached the house, she looked rather anxious and nervous, feeling insecure of the surrounding and chose to sit on the floor. So, what kind of woman she is actually? After meeting the rest of the family members, she shows a confident and powerful manner, like she know she can control the men and plays around just to show that she is not the easy-bullied type.

Gavin Yap, the director! He is so cute and talented! To me, the play is dark, wicked and weird. But the performance was really good. And being able to see the rather well-known and active bloggers in real life, hmm, I wouldn’t have much complains.

Do you know that KLPAC is awesome? As it is in Sentul Park, the scenary is magnificent and it’s hard not to take pictures. The wire mesh benches are really cool. There are swans in the lake and they are so cute. They all swim together and looked like a tiny white boat from far. The area is really really big. You can play hide and seek there, I think.

About this outing, it was the first time with this friend of mine. To have the chance to discover her similar interest in stage plays and performances as I do, I feel really contented today. Happy that me and her are one step closer to each other. Hope there are more outings in the future with her as she is really a good companion to share stories, laugh and walk with.
