Just came back from Pontian, Johor. Brother innocently made me drove most of the journeys back and forth.

Sunday, on the way…
“Until Tangkak, k? Tangkak only few km from here, ok?”
“Ooookkkk…”

“Eh, stupid fool, we passed Tangkak damn long already lo……”
“huh? ummm…” *stupid bro continue pretending to sleep*

So I kena conned and drove all the way back to Pontian from Malacca.

Today, I drove from Pontian to Malacca again. But then, I got him to send me until my doorstep. The initial plan was to leave me at the Kajang station. Bleh. I won’t let that happen with all the food and fruits that I’m gonna have to carry all the way.

Each of us get a packet of grapes and a box of this roundish biscuits which I don’t know what they called in English, from my aunt and two packets of fried chicken from grandma. My grandma owns a coffee shop which sells chicken rice. Her chicken rice is different from the normal ones. Hers are like fried but soft and tender.

The driving was actually quite fun. Maybe coz bro bought the Apple Ipod Roadtrip thing where you can play your Ipod Video in the car. So we watched Futurama, or more like, he watched and I listened while driving. The cartoon is stupid but funny la. Bro said it’s kid’s porn. Hehe. So yeah, at least the journeys back and forth weren’t boring.

Dad called last night and roughly mentioned about why I should recognise the road and all coz WHEN HE GETS ME A CAR, I will not get lost.

Aiya, I know la, but WHEN la…… *looking forward*

Cat Museum pictures part 2.

End of visit. :)

We went to Damai beach to have a look. The resort is beautiful especially the beach. Crystal clear water and white sands, it is a very tempting place to stay for at least a night. We moved on to the famous Culture Village (or is it called Cultural Village?) but it was nearly 5pm. According to my uncle’s niece, the Village is worth a one-day visit so it will be better if we come another day in the morning. She also said that they supposed to have this dance starts at 5pm. So we stopped by to ask for the entrance fees only.

Sarawakian including spouse - RM20.00
Students - RM 10.00
Others - RM 40.00

After that, we were hungry so we went for seafood at this restaurant beside a mini zoo. Well, the mini zoo is definately mini enough. There is peacocks, monkeys and the most disgusting living thing on the earth, snakes. Pythons. Damn fat and lazy. I just had a glimpse. Didn’t dare to look closer.

We had the Kuching-style ou jian. It’s something like fried crispy pizza with the ou jians in the middle. But it didn’t have much ou jian actually, so it’s not really worth it. Other dishes were ok. We ordered this dish but I don’t remember the name. It’s a type of vege only found in kampung, if I’m not wrong. It’s very tiny and curled up, like a green super mini lollipop.

We went to Sunday market and my uncle was so excited to show us this huge insect which are fried and can be eaten. I know, Y.U.C.K!

But my mom was so happy as there were so many pots and different kinds of flowers selling. She was so amazed to find baby pitcher plants as well. Even I was amazed as I always thought that they only can be seen at Mount Kinabalu. Ok now I know, I have zero IQ. I took a picture of it with my phone.

The Sunday Market was big, cramped and crowded. I felt quite stuffy while waiting forever for my mom and aunty. I bought a mini knitted sling bag for RM8. My mom bought some necklaces from a China lady. A pendant sold for Rm25 and my mom managed to get it for Rm12 only. The lady came after us and said, ” (after translated) Okla okla, give you la give you la.” I still remember my mom’s sneaky face trying to hold her victory laugh when she paid.

We spent almost two hours there, and we can’t find the huge fried insects that my uncle was so keen on showing us. So we left Mirage to Wisma Satok which was just across the street. Mom bought some clothes while I bought a stainless steel watch, for only RM60.

Kuching was really a place for tourist like me. The city is full of cats. But I don’t recall seeing any real ones on the street though. But for a cat-lover like myself, Cat Museum indeed is one of the best places to go!

It was the 2nd day when we visited the Cat Museum. Free entrance but with every camera you bring in, you will be charged differently according to the type of your camera. Including camera phones. I just paid for my normal camera and my relative sneaked in her digital camera. They don’t check your bags actually. I scanned the pictures I took so some of them look a bit blur here. There were so many cats in different forms and sizes, crystals, statues in different styles, paintings, Garfield, Hello Kitty and etc.

There were few galleries with different themes. Like western and eastern cats’ drawings. I love the eastern’s.

And then the famous chinese fortune cat.

Er, sweets?

London bridge is falling down… falling down… fallling down…

Farting cats.

Crystal cats.

Fishing cat. See? Even cat finds fishing is damn sien.

Porcelains?

And Doraemon is a cat too!

This is the Thailand version of Doraemon, I think.

You can find these in earrings in accessories shops at Riverbank Side.

This looks like a constipated Lazy.

These looked like something from The Mummy. Egyptian statues.

My mummy in orange and my aunty in pink. I think they have this love cats at Tmn Sahabat as well. But only one of them if I’m not wrong.

There are some in my camera phone but my laptop’s infrared is not working. Seriously a lot of pictures to take. They even have cats that appeared in stories and fairytales. One session for Garfield and a cupboard full of Hello Kitty’s products.

Like my aunty said, “You never come to Kuching if you never visit the Cat Museum.”

More pictures in part 2.

Because there is no direct flight from Tawau to Kuching and vice versa, we have to transit through Kota Kinabalu. And because something with Airasia and MAS do not want to share the same airport anymore, Airasia moved to this KK Terminal 2. It is still under renovation so it’s quite a mess there.

My uncle’s niece picked us up and she brought us to Kuching Waterfront. Pics are blur because I scanned them. I dont have a digital camera.

Everywhere also cats. Purposely one. Just because its Kuching.

Can tell that my mummy damn syok when she saw so many cheap necklaces.

Because we were super lucky, it was or still is the Kuching Festival! Uncle told me that they have it annually from around end of July till middle of August. First, we went to Waterfront again and waited at the opposite the Tuah Pek Kong temple to watch the Kuching Festival parade. It was very interesting and basically most of the participants dressed or make up like cats. There was this bodyfitness association (something along the lines) where men with glowing skin half naked standing behind the Fords showing their muscles. Then, there was this group of performers where they blew up fire from a long stick they each holding. It was fascinating until one of them kind of overdid it and almost choked himself. My mom found it so funny and laughed so loud that we caught some limelight there.

Then, we went to this Kuching Festival Fair held at their Dewan Masyarakat. It was huge and something like a smaller version of SS2 pasar malam. The only difference is this is all about food! So damn a lot of people. It was a Saturday therefore we couldn’t find seats so we just walked around, bought and ate our food along the way. It was so fun! There were doriyakis - doraemon’s favourite food, Uncle Bob’s chicken fillet, Taiwanese sausages and so many many many! But I will never forget the Ham Jin Beng I bought. It was so crispy and not ham(saulty) at all. It was sweet and there’s this red bean smell but with no red beans on it! Yummy yummy!

Ahhhhh… the ham jin bengs…

Basically, we left with fulled stomachs and went home happily and satisfied.

End of first day.

First, let’s talk about my flight.

Airasia almost kill us yesterday.

The flight was delayed for 20 minutes. When we finally boarded to the plane, it delayed another 20 minutes.

After that, the plane finally took off. 15 minutes later, the plane literally fall/dropped and the aunty beside me told me she can see the ground as if we have reach Tawau. That’s how low it was.

Ears were damn pain la due to the pressure and I felt as if one of the plane’s engine has stopped fuctioning.

Then, the pilot announced that the plane had some technical problems and we needed to fly back to KL at once.

I saw people kept praying silently and there was this young malay girl cried. But I wasn’t panic. I was more like, ‘Oh? So this is what happens when plane gonna crash?’

When we were back to Kl again, the passengers were talking about it and only I realized how serious it was. Bleh. Lucky la, we survived. Even the pilot also said ‘Thank god, we have landed safely on ground.’

So postponed again lo. They gave us a mineral water bottle and two buns each as refreshments. We boarded another plane and everyone was more than happy la coz according to some of the aunties, the plane we boarded earlier is the so-called lousiest plane. The one with the Lat cartoons painted on it.

So I’m here safe and sound blogging.

Everything is so familiar here. But there are changes. It’s like things have been modified. But it is still the same old cozy house I know. My home. Well, with different colours and new gates.

I love this place. I love the quiet and rather slow pace compare to KL. I never like KL except when I go for shopping.

My room now is more like my sister’s room. My old stuff all in one medium fancy box. So little things left. I only found my diaries, letters and photo albums in the box. My sister was like, “What? Your stuff? Oh, they are in the box outside the room.”

My stuff = a fulled medium size fancy box with memories.

Finally, I can taste mom’s cooking again. I love soups that she makes, the lap cheong and char siew!! And we had lamb chop cooked by my bro for lunch just now. Tonight, I can eat my mom’s homemade char siew!! I’m in heaven again.

Oh, my mom said she’s going to bring me to this japanese spa thingy. She said if she introduces me, I can get 15 sessions for FREE!

15 sessions!!!!!

Syok!! Can get rid of the oil in my body. Hahahaha!!

The next thing I’m going to do here is to learn how to drive my mom’s auto car. Ok, not learn la. As in get familiar with la. I’m a manual car person la. Auto is like too fluent for me. Ish, I sounded like an old lady. But anyway, I have no choice but to get a hang of the auto car or else I got no car to drive.

My mom just told me that the streamyx package we subscribe is a Rm44 package with limited of 60 hours. Wahlao, 3 person, me, bro and sis are using, not enough la!

But bro leaving soon for his Raleigh expedition. So it’s going to be between me and my sister only. And since I’m the eldest, hahahahhahahhaha…….!

It’s great to be back home. Even with things changed slightly, yet with my loved ones, home is still the way it is since I last left.

Other than studying, Itchy feetJanuary 13, 2006 3:12 am

This one is going to be less words, more photos. :) I will only put the original size of the picture if it’s really clear and nice. Others will be just thumbnails coz it’s too many of them. Hehe. :P We were standing at the rock zone which was next to the stage. Somemore we were at the 2nd row. I know, so near rite?!! haha!! It was really fun and I got so excited coz they were so so near!! So pretty!! Hehe. :P

On the way to Lrt station. Tmn Bahagia to Terminal Putra: RM 2.50.

I know, it’s freaking gay. So go ahead and puke.

In the bus on the way to Genting Skyway Ride. Bus fare: RM2.60.

In the cable car to Genting. To be honest, I was a bit freaked out. Fare: RM 4.00.

Queue up at 6pm. Went in at 6.30pm. Concert started at 8.10pm.

Pretty hor? I like this range of costumes the most.

Yes, we were thaaaat near!

This was the best shot.

There were these giant balls/balloons and were thrown to the two sides of the stage. They were so big and everyone in the rock zone can just merely touched abit of the surfaces of the balls/balloons. Haha. And the balls/balloons kept bouncing and bouncing to every direction. So fun!

Waving byes.

Going down.

The end.
